Dear Friends,
First of all about coffee:
We are very encouraged by the initial shipment arrivals from Central America and Mexico. For the past few years the roya fungus has certainly compromised many of our favorite suppliers. We are now cupping some outstanding coffees, in particular from Huehuetenago, and Chiapas, Mexico – two areas among the hardest hit by the fungus. It is a great time to look at buying some of these; it is clear a lot of hard work has gone into revitalizing the farms.
Secondly, we are once again packing our bags for the SCA in Seattle. We have several events planned including a two tasting room sessions, a Roaster Village presence, and a very large booth. We look forward to seeing you there.
Finally, I want to encourage the many customers we have who support Grounds For Health to stop by their booth. They’ll greatly appreciate the encouragement. They are doing a great job, and they’ll want to thank you for your help. Also, I plan on serving Guji-on-ice and maybe some mini-Pike Place market doughnuts at their booth. I’ll be in the GFH booth some of the time. I would love to introduce you to Ms. Ellen Starr the new executive director. And, if you have ever thought you might want your company to join the growing team of GFH supporters, I think meeting Ellen will give you the confidence and enthusiasm to get on board.
Best wishes and happy trails,
R. Fulmer
