What is green coffee?
Green coffee is the raw, unroasted coffee bean. At Royal Coffee, our goal is to make the best green coffee beans accessible to you, regardless of the size of your roastery.
What are your offerings?
We import the finest green specialty coffee from over 30 countries, nearly half of which is Organic. You can find all our current offerings on our filterable Offering Sheet.
Do you sell coffee in smaller quantities for home roasters?
Yes! We cater to roasters of all sizes, including home roasters, with our Crown Jewels, Royal Gems, and full-size bags.

Can I get a sample before placing an order?
Yes! We do offer ½ lb green samples for most of our spot, full-size bags. Just contact us at info@royalcoffee.com for more information or ask your trader for samples. We do not offer samples on Crown Jewel or Royal Gem coffees.
Should I purchase a full-size bag?
A full-size bag is a coffee that comes in its original packaging from its country of origin and typically weighs between 132 and 154 pounds (60-70kg). The weight of the bag is listed on the product page.
Purchasing a full-size bag in its original packaging from the country of origin is an excellent choice for those who are roasting enough volume to go through 60-70kg of coffee.

Please note that full-size bags must ship on a pallet via freight carrier.
How to Buy Coffee
How can I buy coffee beans online?
Coffees that are available for purchase online are highly reviewed by our trading team and physically here (SPOT in the position drop down) in one of our 4 US warehouses, as well as the Seaforth warehouse in Vancouver, Canada. If you’d like to purchase coffee that is afloat or a future shipment, just contact your trader or email us at info@royalcoffee.com.
Start by navigating to our interactive offerings page. You can filter coffees by availability, size, warehouse location, region, position, certification, and keywords.
Note that size matters! If you’re looking to order Crown Jewels or Royal Gems, as well as full -size bags in one order, you will need to purchase all products from the Oakland warehouse. If you would like to order coffees from different warehouses, that’s okay, you will just need to purchase your full-size bags in a separate transaction.
After you add the coffees to your cart, you can view shipping details in our one-page checkout. Please note that different size products may use different shipping methods, and it may take a moment for our system to calculate shipping. If you are shipping outside of the U.S or to Alaska or Hawaii, there may be specific shipping instructions, see our shipping FAQs for more information.

Why would I sort by warehouse location when purchasing?
By choosing a warehouse location closer to where you are located, you can save money on shipping (or you could pick up your coffee). See more information about shipping and will call below.
What is the position filter?
The position filter on our offerings page lets you know where the coffee is currently located.
- Afloat: Coffee is in transit from one of our origin ports to our warehouse, there is typically an ETA listed for when the coffee will arrive.
- Future Shipment: The coffee has been contracted but has not yet left the port. You may see information about the future shipment, for example, ‘November shipment.’ Once the coffee has an ETA it will be updated to the purchase page and changed to ‘afloat.’
- Spot: The coffee is currently located in one of our warehouses and ready to ship out.
Is it better to purchase from a trader?
No matter what type of coffee or size of shipment, you can purchase directly from a trader. For some, this may be an easier purchasing option.
Additionally, if you want to buy any coffee with multiple payment methods or use your established credit terms, whether it is forward, afloat, or SPOT, contacting us to order may be easier.
Is there a minimum order size?
The minimum order size depends on your shipping location:
- U.S.: There are no minimum orders on full-size bags, Crown Jewel boxes, or Royal Gems, if you live in the contiguous U.S.
- Canada: There are no minimum orders on fullsize bags, Crown Jewel boxes, or Royal Gems.
- International Customers: We have a 10 full-size bag or 10 box minimum order on all online international sales (excluding Canada). Please contact us to discuss your options.
What if I want to purchase a coffee currently in the warehouse but I’m not ready to receive it yet?
If you want to lock in a particular full-size bag of coffee, we have in one of our warehouses but don’t have the space to receive the shipment right away, that’s okay. During the purchase process you can select ‘leave in position’ rather than choosing a shipping method and we will hold the coffee until you are ready for it to be shipped.
Note you can only choose this option for full-size bags of coffee, all other purchases will be shipped after purchase. You must contact us when you’d like to release any coffee that has been left in position.
What happens if I purchase a coffee and am unhappy with the quality I've received?
We stand behind our coffee. Should you encounter any problems, contact us and we’ll work with you to come up with a solution.
When your order arrives, please inspect the pallet and bags before signing for the delivery.
Crown Jewel purchases are non-refundable. If you have any issues with your Crown Jewel purchase, please email Chris Kornman.
Shipping Coffee
How do online purchases ship?
How your coffee ships depends on whether you are ordering full-size bags of small boxes.
Full Size Bag Shipping Info
Shipping costs for full-size bags vary depending on the location you are shipping from.
When you ship your full-size bags, you will have the option to add shipping details like “requires a liftgate at carrier location”, or requesting a delivery appointment, to make the delivery as smooth as possible. Learn more about these shipping options here. Note that these selections can impact the shipping cost.
Please be sure to select any additional services you need to avoid delays and for accurate shipping quotes.
Freight charges will be calculated at checkout for orders shipping from Oakland, Seattle, and Houston. If you are ordering from Midwest or Seaforth, we will provide shipping quotes after you place your order.
Crown Jewel & Royal Gem Shipping Info
Crown Jewel purchases (before 4pm PST) will ship the next business day via FedEx. You can also arrange will call pick up our Oakland warehouse. If you select will call you will receive an email from our Outbound Traffic department letting you know when your order will be ready to pick up.
Alaskan and Hawaiian Customers: Please contact us at info@royalcoffee.com for ordering and to review shipping options.
Canadian customers: Please find our Canadian ordering and shipping information here.
International Customers: Please contact us at info@royalcoffee.com for ordering and to review shipping options. Minimum international orders start at just 10 bags or Crown Jewels.
How do full-size bags ship?
Because full-size bags are so heavy, between 132 and 154 pounds (60-70kg), they are shipped on wooden pallets. Please ensure that you are prepared to receive these shipments by adding any requirements listed on the shipping page during checkout. For example, if you don’t have a loading dock or forklift, you will need to select ‘requires liftgate at destination.’ Please choose any services you need to avoid shipping delays or extra charges after your order has shipped.

How much will freight cost?
For full-size bags, your freight quote will be generated during the checkout process.
- For orders from Oakland, Seattle, and Houston, we use our freight rates to anywhere in the continental U.S.
- If shipping out of Midwest, Costa Oro will select the best rate for you and send you an invoice. Please be sure to check all boxes that apply to your shipment (liftgate, residential delivery, etc.)!
- If shipping from Canada, please see our information here.
Crown Jewels and Royal Gems ship free within the contiguous US via FedEx Ground, excluding APO/FPO addresses. Flat rate shipping to Canada includes customs brokerage. If purchased before 4:00 PM PST, they will ship the next business day.
*Some restrictions for shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and certain countries may apply
When will my order ship?
Crown Jewels and Royal Gem orders placed by 4:00 PM PST ship the next business day from our Oakland warehouse.
For full-size bags, the shipping time will depend on where it’s shipping from:
- Royal Coffee Warehouse, Oakland – Full size bags placed by 4:00 PM PST ship in two business days.
- Costa Oro, Seattle – Orders placed by 11:00 AM PST ship next day. Orders placed after 11:00 AM ship in two business days.
- Dupuy, Houston – Ready dates will be announced by Dupuy Houston on a first-come, first-served basis. Please look out for Dupuy’s email reply with the date your order will be ready.
- Midwest – Orders placed by 12:30 PM CST ship the next business day.
- Seaforth – Ready dates will be announced by Seaforth on a first-come, first-served basis. Please look out for Seaforth’s email with the date your order will be ready.
Do I have to ship the coffee right away?
Full-size bags: No. You may leave them in your position and ship later. To ship later, you can choose the ‘leave in position’ option during check out. Please remember that once you decide to ship the coffee, you’ll need to contact us to release the order.
Crown Jewels and Royal Gems: Yes. These can be ordered by 4 pm PST will ship the next business day. You may also elect to arrange a Will Call. There are no options to leave Crown Jewels in your position or to elect to ship later.
If you order any full-size bag & a Crown Jewel box in the same order, you will receive separate shipments: FedEx Shipment of your Crown Jewel 22lb. box(es) and Freight shipment of your full-size bag(s).
What happens if my shipment arrives damaged?
Always inspect the pallet and bags before signing for a delivery. Please review our instructions on receiving your shipment here.
If your shipment arrives with damage, please:
- Note the damage on the driver’s receipt, but still accept the delivery.
- Document the damage with photos, which will help with the claim process.
- Please file a claim directly with the shipping company. Royal can assist in this process as needed.
What if I live in Hawaii or outside of the United States?
We can’t wait to ship coffee to you; however, due to the regulations in Hawaii and outside of the US, we are required to perform additional services relative to your shipping address.
Processing these steps for Full-Size Bags,Crown Jewels, and Royal Gems may add up to a week to the time it takes to ship your order, and there will be additional charges for these services.

May I pick up at the warehouse?
You may pickup full-size Bags, Crown Jewels, and Royal Gems at our warehouse during Will Call hours listed below, ensure you pay close attention to when your order will be ready for pick up based on purchasing time or email noting your purchase is ready for pickup.
Note that Crown Jewel and Royal Gem purchases are only available for pick up in Oakland.

Ordering Online FAQs
How do I create an account?
The first step for a new customer is to create an account online. This will allow you to purchase both through the web and with your salesperson. When creating an account don’t forget to fill out your billing and shipping addresses, note that even if you plan to pick up your order you must still fill out a shipping address.
If you’ve been a customer for a while, you can log in here or sign up for an online account using the email we have on file for you. Once you’ve logged in, you can view your position report, bills of lading, organic certificates, order history, and unpaid invoices.

I already have an account with Royal Coffee. Do I need to set up an account online too?

I'm logged in, now where is my position report?
Once you are logged in, you can navigate to your reports on the Dashboard.
If I buy online, can I still speak with my sales rep?
Absolutely! Our team of traders is always happy to offer guidance.
Is there a difference in price between online purchases and those done with my sales rep?
We’ve priced our online inventory for orders that are 10 bags or less and will be paid with a credit card. There are many scenarios that fall outside of that category and pricing will be influenced accordingly.
If you order in volumes larger than one pallet, your prices would most likely be lower when purchasing with a trader. Feel free to discuss this with your sales rep.
